  • Chiang Mai Whopper Virgin Reportedly Not a Virgin

Chiang Mai, Thailand (POBA Press December 24, 2008) – Last month Burger King launched an advertising campaign that sought people in remote locations of the world to participate in taste tests between its signature sandwich and McDonald’s Big Mac. The participants were dubbed Whopper Virgins because of their lack of exposure to Western fare.

One of the journeys led to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where a recent report claimed that a featured villager may not have been a Whopper Virgin. Although the identity of the villager was not revealed, the report described the person as a female in her late teens.

“It’s quite common for village girls to lose their Whopper Virginity and still claim to be virgins,” said a village elder through a translator. “It’s only when they eat their fourth of fifth Whopper do they admit they’re no longer Whopper Virgins.”

The elder also explained that young men often claim to be non-Whopper Virgins or falsely inflate the number of Whoppers they have consumed to impress peers.

Burger King released a statement after the report surfaced acknowledging the challenge of identifying genuine Whopper Virgins and expressed regret over any false advertisement.
